  I’m super disappointed with this Brakes Plus location. I’ve had work done by BP before and had a good experience. I referred a family member to them and they treated her horribly. The mechanic that worked on her vehicle messed up when installing her new brakes and would not admit it. When my family member got her car back, it was making a loud clunking noise that it never made before. She brought this to the attention of the manager, who brought the mechanic out to take a test drive with her. The mechanic was blaming it on her bad struts and proceeded to drive over speed bumps faster than she should have to try to make the struts make noise. The struts are older and do need to be replaced soon, but they are not failing yet, and the noise was completely new. The mechanic proceeded to gaslight my family member, telling her that it was definitely the struts and that’s the only thing that would be making that noise. After the test drive, where she drove completely unprofessionally, my family member asked if the manager would take a look at it. He said yes, we will take a look at it, and lifted it up on the lift and pointed a flashlight at each tire, and that was it. He said, “I don’t see anything wrong. It’s definitely your struts.” He didn’t take any of the tires off or do any due diligence. The mechanic, who is a lady, was completely rude and adamant that she had done millions of these and she knows for sure she didn’t mess anything up. My family member ended up leaving in tears and calling me to tell me what happened. She then proceeded to take her vehicle back to a different Brakes Plus the following day. The mechanic there noticed the problem immediately and fixed her mistake. I specifically sent her there because she is a woman and I know women get taken advantage of by mechanics all the time. That lady mechanic and her manager should be ashamed of themselves for trying to take advantage of a single mom. The mechanic’s attitude was completely unprofessional and she has no business dealing with customers.

  On 3/10/26 I paid about $1,000 at the Brakes Plus on N Beach (76137) for new brakes and rotors. When I picked up my vehicle it immediately had a loud clunking/rattling noise coming from the front passenger side that had never been there before. I returned right away and spoke with Tommy and the mechanic who performed the work. After a short drive around the building I was told the noise was “already there” and that I would need about $1,500 in suspension repairs. My concern that the noise began immediately after the brake work was dismissed. The next morning I went to the Brakes Plus on Blue Mound for a second opinion. They identified the issue and corrected it in about five minutes with a simple adjustment. The noise was completely gone. So the $1,500 diagnosis from the N Beach location turned out to be something another Brakes Plus fixed almost immediately. Very disappointing experience. Leaving 2 stars as prices were comparable to other shops, shop was clean, repairs were done quickly. If they weren’t completely dismissive to their customers’ dissatisfaction this could have been a good experience.

  Thomas (or Tommy) was beyond helpful. He not only helped me figure out the problem but also explained it to me in a way I was actually able to understand. He went above and beyond even offering to hold the car while I gathered the money to get it paid and fix. He had great prices and had it fixed and ready to go later the same day which was WAY faster than anticipated. 10/10 will definitely be coming back in the future just for him.

  I've used this location for years and they have never let me down. This last appointment is no exception. The manager was informative and I drove out of there with as a satisfied customer. I knew I needed back brakes. Turns out I also needed the front pads and disc. The manager made me a deal I couldn't refuse and I will continue to use this location for all my brakes needs. The way they listen and then explain to their customers is top notch. Thanks Brake Plus!!!!

  It's the small things that build trust between you and your mechanic. This place was clean but seemed under staffed. Needed brakes, oil change, tire rotation and headlight but they called said they didn't have time to do the brakes (I needed same day) but that the brakes were ok just so me rust? They were starting the other work but it would be close to closing prior to being done. They did call again to tell me my vehicle was ready early. Had to wait a bit when I went to pick up no one in the front for a while. Got checked out easy. The staff were really nice and professional both at drop off and pick up. Made it to my vehicle only to find a low tire alert and my oil sensor was not reset. So.. did they rotate the tires? Are my brakes really ok?
