One store actually recommended I call Advance Auto because they have better prices and batteries—and they were absolutely right. Other places were quoting me an additional $125 for labor on top of the battery cost and saying it would take up to three hours. At Advance, installation was free with the purchase of the battery, and the battery price was exactly the same as the competitors. The service was excellent—Frank was friendly, helpful, applied a discount, and had my new battery installed in under an hour. Thank you, Advance, for the fast, affordable, and outstanding service!
- LALizzi ArellanoFeb 24, 20265.0Huge kudos to Louie G. today! I went in this morning to buy some bulbs for my car. I needed more than the two pack of lights and told me they had a 10 pack of bulbs which was perfect because I needed 7. A few hours later after I changed the bulbs. My assembly still wasn’t working. So I went back to ask if there was any way to test that part. Louie went above and beyond to test it out for me. Even another customer was able to help with testing the lights since it was tricky to get the alligator clips in the connection part. Anyway, he got the lights to turn on. Which helped me know that my assembly was working. Just now need to figure out why it wasn’t lighting. (Note that I was able to get the lights to work in the car.) Just wanted to share this because other auto part stores were unable to help me out. While Louie actually tried helping. 🙌🏽 Definitely returning back for my auto part needs!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
