Sergio Cardenas was very helpful in replacing our Honda with a Crosstrek. A very easy trade that is already making driving fun again. Thanks to the whole staff at Bert Ogden Subaru. Warm regards to everyone we dealt with. JOHN & SUE

Eric Rangel was well versed in the car we were looking. Very knowledgeable , courteous, and was able to twist our arm. Ha! Well spoken and took good care. If you’re looking for a new car I would look him upz

I’m retired and live in Wisconsin. While vacationing with family in Mission my car was totaled in a collision. I purchased a replacement car at this place. On the drive back to Wisconsin the eyesight failed. It is costing me 3800.00 to fix the multiple problems associated with it. Bert Ogden Subaru says I have to bring it back 1500 miles one way, to get it fixed. Do not buy from these people.

I had a very disappointing experience with Bert Ogden Subaru, specifically with sales managers. To start, our sales representative Sergio was actually helpful, respectful, and made a genuine effort to work with us. Unfortunately, management overshadowed the overall experience. My husband and I were seriously considering purchasing a Subaru Crosstrek. We were comparing Subaru with Honda, as we’ve had consistently excellent experiences with Honda vehicles in the past. However, we were leaning toward Subaru because of its strong safety ratings, I like the look, and they have positive reviews. From early on, the experience raised concerns. During our second visit, we asked for an out-the-door price so we could make an informed decision. The manager on duty at that time refused to provide one and told us to bring him Honda's offer, which felt unnecessary and unhelpful. On a later visit, Jerry Saenz presented us with a price—but stated it was only valid “for that day.” This seemed more like a high-pressure sales tactic than a genuine attempt to earn our business. I had already expressed my dissatisfaction with the previous interaction and even mentioned we were considering taking our business to San Antonio. Despite that, I kept communication open out of appreciation for the sales representative, Sergio, who was trying. The final interaction was the most concerning. Jerry insisted that we apply for financing through the dealership, which I declined. I prefer a straightforward buying process and had no intention of spending hours negotiating financing terms. His primary concern was adjusting the monthly payments instead of negotiating the vehicle's actual price. Payments were never the issue—the total cost was. Jerry told my husband to "shut up" when he stood firm against pressure. That level of disrespect is completely unacceptable in any professional setting. In the end, we decided not to do business here. We purchased our vehicle at North Park Subaru, San Antonio TX, instead, where the staff (Nicholas Sego and David Martinez) listened to our needs, negotiated fairly, respected our time, and did not pressure us into financing. The entire process there took under two hours, and they even included extras like tint and all-weather mats at no additional cost. We were able to negotiate a price that was 500 less than our original target. Overall, while the sales representative did a good job, the management experience—particularly with Jerry Saenz—was unprofessional, disrespectful, and ultimately cost this dealership a sale. I would not recommend this location based on our experience.

EDIT: The owner of Bert Ogden replied to my review, but when I emailed them, they never got back to me. Just keep that in mind!!! Long story short: STAY AWAY FROM THE BERT OGDEN SERVICE DEPARTMENT UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE GIVEN THE RUNAROUND ON YOUR SUBARU REPAIRS! ALSO--INSTEAD OF FIXING YOUR ISSUES, THEY MAY JUST TRY TO SELL YOU A NEW VEHICLE INSTEAD. Very disappointed and frustrated with this dealership. Even after I bought a vehicle for $20k+ (21' Subaru Forester) from Bert Ogden Subaru, I was denied service on my existing Subaru Crosstrek. I received a mailed letter from the Subaru Corporation that electronic malfunctions with particular Subaru vehicle radios would qualify for 1) a software update and 2) with remaining malfunctions, a radio head replacement. I have gone at least 3 times to this Subaru service shop AND have called Subaru corporate to get my radio replaced. I have been denied service and have been given the runaround (even though my vehicle qualifies under warranty AND has had electronic malfunctions AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE) multiple times. The Subaru corporate agent I worked with was also given excuses by Bert Ogden, and the agent literally suggested that I try another dealership as a last resort measure. At this point, stay away unless you want to get the runaround. My vehicle radio also has early signs of delamination and adhesive detachment/melt, to which the Bert Ogden service department labeled it as damaged caused by an "external force/accident". I have not been able to get ahold of the service dept. manager, and everyone wants to shrug their shoulders when I show them the warranty and I tell them that my radio screen still lags after the software update. Again, IF YOU HAVE A REPAIR THAT COULD COST THIS DEALERSHIP MONEY, GOOD LUCK!!! They could not care less about your issues. Pictures attached!!! These are the damages they are refusing to fix, along with my electrical failures (caused by innate issues with the car, not me!). This review will not be changed/removed unless I receive a new radio. Until then, I will be going to the San Antonio Subaru for business. -Nicole B.
