Bottom Line Up-Front: Enterprise charged me an additional fee (of several hundred dollars) for a clause that should have been made known prior to the rental agreement and submission of payment. When an objection was made, the management of this Enterprise location expressed a clear lack of motive to return the funds and I was figuratively told to get bent.
Context: In the beginning of October, I rented a vehicle from Enterprise in order to travel from Decatur Texas back home to Virginia. I verbally stated that this would be a one-way trip and that the rental vehicle would be dropped off to the nearest location of my home - in Virginia.
Papers were signed, payment was rendered, and my drive home - to Virginia - was conducted.
Approximately a week after the rental vehicle was dropped off, I received an email stating that due to the rental vehicle not having been dropped off at the original place of pick-up, I will be charged an additional fee of several hundred dollars.
The first phone call I made to Enterprise was pleasant, and the representative (not of this particular location) said they would get back to me. They did not.
The second phone call was equally pleasant, and she expressed an empathetic tone that made it appear as though she understood the dilemma from a human perspective. She said she would contact the management of this location, and that I should stand by for a possible phone call.
Within approximately 30 minutes I did receive a phone call from this Enterprise location. Although I'm not entirely sure, I think that I spoke with the representative that helped me rent the car.
The call itself was completely pointless. To summarize, she apologized for the confusion, but stood firm in her resolve that this charge is normal under the circumstances. I reiterated that from my position, I had made it known that I had no intentions of dropping the rental vehicle off at the original location. Because of this, it ought to have been her obligation to inform me of this policy and update my bill there on the spot. Her response, although not literally, was an apathetic "there's nothing I'm willing to do about that".
Conclusion: I understand that this "policy" both exists and isn't hidden in a vault. However, considering the above context and my lasting impression of being swindled by a million-dollar company, I do not recommend using Enterprise. I, naturally, think that I should have not been charged the way I was. I think that my money should have been returned to me as a one-time miscommunication blunder. Had any of this turned out differently, I think that my next rental would have been from Enterprise. But instead, I think I'll rent from Hertz, Avis, or literally any of their competitors. I also think that I'm going to have many colorful words to describe this interaction to anybody who will listen for as long as I'm bitter about it.

First, the employees at this location, Brendan and Lucas, were polite, efficient, good communicators, and good problem solvers. The location did not have the number or type of vehicles needed, but we got a car we were happy with and a price break for the trouble. We would go here again.
The four stars would have been five except for the problem with availability. Employees were great.

10/6/25 If i could gave this location 0 stars i would . My insurance company had them call me today after being involved in a accident. They called me SUPER RUDE woman she got mad and irate when I started asking questions And when I ask, how much would their insurance was. She talked very rude and angry and hung up on me and blocked my number So I could not call back she called from a Fort Worth 682 number and I was trying to confirm she was in Decatur Texas which is 940 area code. and she got pissed off about that. So my reservation was sent here, but I had no way to get a hold of them because she hung up and blocked my number. After dealing with worthless customer service from their toll-free number about four hours later, the customer service number transfer me to her. And she was so rude and hateful telling me there ain’t no manager. She’s not connecting me to a manager. She’s the branch manager. Ran her mouth absolutely refused to help me or give me any information. And said if i show up I would have to deal with her. If enterprise gave her a position as terminal manager they should feel a shame of their self, and she should feel very ashamed of herself talking to me like that. There is absolutely no excuse for this behavior and definitely not professional I would say she needs to be a terminated immediately. And if enterprise cares at all They should terminate her Immediately. And there’s no miss understanding here This is completely wrong and Unacceptable. Enterprise without customers you go Out of business. If you have to deal with enterprise, definitely go to another location not this one.
