  The rental process was very smooth. I was able to pick up and drop off the car within the specified rental timeframe. I was surprised to receive an email almost 24 hours after dropping off the car letting me know "Your National Rental #xxxxxx from DFW Airport is currently on our overdue list. Please reply all and provide an updated return date." This was a day after I returned the car and after responding I received a receipt and no further communication. You can do better than this National.

  I have been a VERY long (about 15 years or more) VIP member with National. I can't understand how National moves grandfathered members from Executive to Emerald just because they don't rent so many cars in a month or year. In my opinion as long as there's constant rentals... which they are. Why charge long time members extra for renting certain SUV's for travel when this has not always been the "punishment"? I think once an Executive members that should not change.

  I am usually very happy with National. I like Emerald Isle and the choice of cars is generally good. Very easy process. However, this time I was very disappointed that they would not let me use my "free days" on the car I wanted to rent. What's the point of "free days" if you can only use it on the worst cars, or at off-peak times? I wasn't after anything fancy; just a standard rental.

  Daniel, at DFW pick up was wonderful. He helped get my luggage into the trunk, explained how the toll system would work on the toll roads I would traverse, and offered to connect my phone to the car, but the car was not having it, but he tried. He gave me some bottles of water for my drive to my destination. All in all he was so kind and helpful. Returning the car was a piece of cake and again the National employee helped get the luggage out of the trunk for me. CAVEAT for DFW--make sure you get on the correct shuttle bus for the terminal you want after you return your car. Different shuttles stop at different terminals. That is a story for another day but that is not National's fault.

  MR. MATT DASH!!!! An angel! Give this man a raise! I did not rent a car from National, but simply asked him (I think he may have been on his break!) where to go to catch the bus back to the terminals. He OFFERED to walk me there, which included taking the elevator. I didn’t ask, but he OFFERED IMMEDIATELY. MATT DASH showed me so much patience and kindness inside that 4 minutes, it totally changed the remainder of my experience in getting to the rental drop off. I’m so grateful! Thank you, MATT DASH!
