I was there today needing diesel for my van. I was actually heading to another station for diesel and saw the Sunoco and went there instead! Tap option and chip reader not working on one of the pumps…vandalized.
Guy behind counter was nice and friendly as he was unaware I was needing diesel instead of gas. I could have prepaid to continue using the pump, but the other diesel pump had just finished and not sure how much I needed.
I swung across to the other side of the pump and tap worked fine. While filling up, I noticed that I couldn’t report prices on gas buddy app because stations aren’t showing setup in their listings. I’ll be adding you to the system for more of us that use the app.
As for the people saying to stay away because they had stolen $100 and such… when you prepay you used a credit card worse, a debit card. When a prepay is made, it’s typically for ~$100 and what ever you purchased too. Once the transactions are processed, the GAS/Fuel prepay is returned and you will have the current charge of what you actually purchased.
Blame the people who are the type that dine and dash…yes it happened with fuel too and not worth them losing money in fuel.
As you know, credit cards are other people’s money that they’ve entrusted to you to spend within your means.
Debit cards are a direct line to your bank account and you see all of the holds and such immediately from your funds until processing is completed for the day.
Not the stations fault, but I hope you better understand how credit and banking can affect you if you needed these funds for serious issues like housing rent, citations or the likes and wasn’t there when in desperate need and you were issued a warrant or lost housing.
Only one to blame would b yourself because this is everyday life in the banking world.
I will return when I’m in the area and in need of diesel!
