This company has poor communication skills, after enrollment you will never speak to a live person again. I was involved in a car wreck, my car was totaled and I was injured. Not only was I suffering a lose, I was also focusing on getting well. During all this, I had a court order to have the device removed. The court order, the total lose document, police report, or insurance documents did not matter to intoxaloc. The device is still on the car to this day, the are still billing me and emailing me as if they are illiterate toward the situation. The insurance company calls me to this day to see when can the device be removed so they can demolish the vehicle. When I call, I am left on hold for hours only for no one to return, or continually rerouted until someone hangs up. Also I needed to switch to hand held. They do not have hand held for my county. The device is big and old and loudly obnoxious. Lastly, when my car was in running conditions, I needed to put it in the shop for some days. They do not have the ability or so that's what I was told, to disengage/ give a code for the device while in the shop. Anyhow, this was and still is my experience from intoxaloc.. if I could leave no star I would.
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
