Buyer beware - shady business practices
I purchased a Bronco 3 weeks ago at Clay Cooley Ford. This is just a warning in case all of the Clay Cooley dealerships have the same practices. I went in asking for the advertised price. I was told the only way to get the advertised price with to purchase their Family Guarantee which was simple a claw back of the discount shown in their advertisement. Shady business tactic at best. Next, the finance team messed up my finance paperwork for my trade in and they are holding on to nearly $5,000 of my money. It's been 3 weeks and counting. This is the absolute worst purchasing experience that I have had.

I strongly advise against speaking with a salesman named Trevor at the Clay Cooley Nissan on LBJ Hwy in Dallas. I've heard from others that he can be quite rude and disrespectful to customers. There have also been complaints about him contacting people with disrespectful messages. Stay cautious! These are the RUDE MESSAGES WE RECEIVED FROM HIM AND I CALLED TO REPORT HIM AND ANOTHER EMPLOYEE STARTED LAUGHING AS WELL… VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Clay Cooley Nissian was very good at trying to help me . But Clay Cooley Hyundai sold me a car that was not properly checked before they sold it to me. The car They sold me wasn't properly checked before they sold it even though it was a used car. 2016 Volkswagen Tugeion That car had a lot of issues. I bought my car in July and it is November and so I bought it. I had to get a battery, brakes, the sun roof is stuck it won't open, the car stalls while driving, Something about the Eco stability system all the I the whole dashboard light up like a christmad tree , the back tires were not good I had 2 blow outs, the Bluetooth and Navigation works when it wants to work. It goes in and out , the radio will just stop playing and it works when it wants to. the park brake got stuck. It was in the shop for a about 3 weeks at Clay Cooley Park Cities Volkswagen before they fixed the park brake. So they told me my car was ready., Me and my Auntie went to pick it up they told me the wheels were stuck. So I had to get it towed to the place that fixed the brakes they had to adjust the brake calibers then they ran a diagnostic test on it and now the ABS Brake Module needs to be replaced. Soooo many problems with this car. But right before I had it towed someone hit me on the freeway about a week before. But all of these problems were going on before the hit. So I am stuck with a car that has so many issues. But I am upside down in this car. I have to do what I have to do because I bought it and I GUESS IT'S MY RESPONSIBILITY TO GET THE CAR RIGHT ALTHOUGH THIS IS A DEFINITE DEFECTIVE CAR!!! THAT'S WHY THE PERSON THAT TRADED IT IN THE DAY BEFORE I BOUGHT IT WAS HAVING THESE ISSUES. THEY DIDN'T CHECK IT BEFORE THEY SOLD IT TO ME! I GUESS A CAR IS USED CAR IS SOLD AS IS. BUT MY GOODNESS ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY TO THEM AS LONG AS THEY MAKE THAT SELL!!!! N

If I could give clay cooley a zero stars I would. I bought a car from them in a rush cause I had to be out of town. Missed my flight so I had to drive, noticed once driving that the inside of the car had blood on it, after walking around the car noticed that the car had some scrapes and car had damage, I called them and they told me they would “clean” the car. Which still to this day hasn’t been cleaned. Upon getting into town they have still not called me back. And the car is dead and will not come on. Had to pay a locksmith $100 to come and open the door. This is horrible business and I have told everyone not to go to this dealership. Kendrick was my salesman.

Clay Cooley sold me a car with a known issue and still hasn’t fixed it over a month later.
This was my first time financing a car, and Clay Cooley turned what should’ve been an exciting experience into an absolute nightmare. I test drove a Polestar 2 at their dealership, and during the test drive, the car was already showing a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) error message. I immediately mentioned it to the manager, Jose, who told me not to worry. He even wrote and signed a paper stating that Clay Cooley would cover the cost to fix the issue if I took the car to the official Polestar dealership in Grapevine.
I trusted them and went through with the purchase on September 30th, thinking I was in good hands. Fast forward to my Polestar appointment — I drove 45 minutes to the dealership, only to find out the sensors weren’t even broken. The real issue was that Clay Cooley sold me the car with mismatched tires — all the same except for the front driver-side tire. That mismatch caused the warning light to stay on. Polestar even sent Clay Cooley an estimate to fix the problem, and they refused to pay, saying it was “too expensive.”
After that, I kept trying to reach them to get this issue resolved. I called multiple times and got no answer, so on October 22nd, I decided to go up to the dealership in person. Jose told me he had placed an order for the correct tire and that it would be taken care of soon.
Now it’s November 4th, and I’ve been calling again for updates — still no answer, no returned calls, and no tire. It’s been over a month since I bought the car, and the problem they promised to fix in writing still hasn’t been resolved. My first car payment is due November 14th, and I’m paying for a vehicle that was sold to me with a known issue that they continue to ignore.
As a first-time buyer, this entire experience has been exhausting and extremely disappointing. Clay Cooley’s lack of communication and accountability shows they don’t value their customers once the sale is complete. I’ll never buy from Clay Cooley again, and I strongly recommend anyone considering this dealership to get everything in writing, double-check every detail, and expect zero follow-through once you drive off the lot.
