Customer service is practically impossible to get ahold of. They use a ton of different phone numbers that get you the same result. My car battery as well as other car parts were killed by the device just weeks after having it. Despite my car not being able to turn on because of this they wouldn’t move the calibration date back just one day because of “Texas Law” blah blah. Calibration is also supposed to be every 30 days but my car was locked out at 25 this last time. They still made me pay the lockout fee to get my car unlocked and have it calibrated EARLY. Strange the offer 24/7 roadside assistance but no where in the app do they give you easy access to this (probably have to call customer service for this information…good luck). Also, they do not have a number to contact customer support through the app. You have to call the number on the device or Google one of there many options for contact numbers. Also the device is one of the most clunky and apparent looking compared to other devices. This company does not have competitive pricing and may also cost you $500 in car repair just to utilize the device. And you better repair your car or they’ll slap more fees on top of your already hefty repair bill. It’s all a cash grab.

Don't go here to service your device. They charge more than double what most places do. Update 9/11/20: After receiving a call from the company'scustomer satisfaction department, I was refunded a service charge and one month of service, after having a bad experience with customer service on the phone. I still left the review of three stars for the actual service center, car toys, because they charge twice what I normally pay, and the employee I had to deal with was unpleasant. I have used other services and Intoxalock is the most professional.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle.
