I recently needed a rapid windshield replacement and used Safelite’s repair service. Here’s how it went.
Ease of arranging the service
Booking online was simple and quick. I could select a time window that fit my day, with automated confirmations by email and text.
The service offered flexible options, including same-day or next-day appointments in many areas.
The new windshield fit well with clean edges and proper alignment, no noticeable gaps.
Quality and workmanship
The seal looked solid, and there were no leaks during light rain in the days following installation.
The windshield appeared distortion-free, and there was no wind noise introduced after the install.
Basic maintenance tips were provided to protect the windshield and support adhesive cure time.

I took my car in for a warranty issue. Eddy was the first to greet me and walked out to my car to listen to my concerns. He test drove my car said he heard the same issues, and pulled my car right into the shop. Eddy explained in great detail every step he would do, he even came into the lobby to show me parts he would be replacing. Eddy is very knowledgeable, his workmanship was meticulous and he left my car very clean. This was the best experience I have ever had at Safelite!
A SafeLite tech came to our home to replace windshields in both of our vehicles. There’s no way we had time to take our vehicles to a shop so this home or on-site service was extremely convenient for our busy schedules. Kevin (our tech) was very polite and professional, he explained the process upon arrival and then went over the after-install care instructions to ensure we would be completely satisfied with the service. During our conversation, I found out he served 4 years in the Marines. As a retired Army Soldier, I was glad to hear that SafeLite supports and hires military veterans. Kevin’s demeanor and focus was indicative of the type of employee you get when you hire a veteran. Keep up the great work Kevin and SafeLite!
I visited the Baytown location to have a nickel-sized chip in my Tesla windshield repaired. Unfortunately, the repair was unsuccessful and resulted in the windshield cracking. Safelite repaired the crack at that time, and because the technician performing the work was a trainee, the manager,Mr. Del Bosque, overseeing the training waived the charge. I appreciated the gesture, and I was assured that the crack would not spread; however, by the following day, the crack had extended to more than 24 inches.
I returned to the location to discuss possible solutions, but the technician informed me that I would be responsible for the full cost of a windshield replacement. I then spent the next two days attempting to reach a live representative through Safelite customer service, without success.
What makes this situation particularly frustrating is that the windshield was brand new and had cost $1,500 to replace. Now, due to the failed repair and the difficulty obtaining support, I am facing another $1,500 replacement expense. Lastly, the repair was scheduled online and because the manager didn’t charge me, there is no record of the appointment, so I can’t schedule a warranty appointment.
