I had an absolutely fantastic experience working with Chris White at Volvo Cars of Austin while leasing my Volvo XC90. From start to finish, he was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful every step of the way.
We initially connected after submitting a “build your car” inquiry through Volvo’s website, and Chris immediately made the process feel easy and approachable. Through email, he took the time to really understand what I was looking for, helped me narrow down my options, and clearly explained the benefits of each feature without ever overwhelming me.
What really stood out was how seamless everything felt. Chris was able to locate the exact vehicle I wanted and quickly coordinated a time for me to come see it. I also appreciated being able to discuss details ahead of time, which made the in-person experience even smoother.
Throughout the entire process, I never felt pressured in the slightest. Chris was kind, patient, and truly focused on making sure I felt confident and comfortable with my decision.
This was, without a doubt, the easiest and most enjoyable car-buying experience I have ever had. I highly recommend working with Chris if you’re in the market for a Volvo!
First, I didn’t end up buying a car from Volvo Cars of Austin but the experience here was 1st class. Pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever left a review for a business that I didn’t actually do business with.
John Knorre went above and beyond to try and earn our business, and worked for serval days to try and make a deal for us, it just wasn’t meant to be (not their fault). I would definitely shop here again and highly recommend you do the same.

I reached out about a used car at Volvo Cars of Austin and had one phone conversation with a sales representative, Jacob. I expressed interest, but was clear that I wasn’t fully committed and wanted to think it over.
During that call, I was told I had “three days” to come in so we could make a deal, always reassuring to know there’s a countdown involved in a major purchase. A few days later, I mentioned I might come in on Tuesday, but ultimately decided not to move forward.
The follow-up message I received leaned heavily on end-of-month/quarter urgency and how the car had “been there too long.” I understand dealerships have sales targets, but the tone came across as more pressure than professionalism.
If the goal was to create urgency, it definitely worked—just not in the way intended. It made me far less interested in doing business here. A more customer-focused, low-pressure approach would go a long way.

Terrible experience at Volvo Cars Austin, especially when it comes to parts and service.
I brought my vehicle in for what should have been a straightforward repair, and it turned into a frustrating, drawn-out process. Parts were either “not available” or constantly delayed, and no one could give me a clear or consistent timeline. Every time I followed up, I got a different answer.
What’s worse is that the communication was extremely poor. I had to chase them for updates, and even then, the information was vague or inaccurate. At one point, I was told a part had arrived, only to later find out it hadn’t, completely unacceptable.
For a Volvo dealership, you would expect a well-managed service department with reliable parts logistics. Instead, it felt disorganized and careless, with no sense of urgency or accountability.
This was a huge waste of time and a very frustrating experience. I would not trust this location with my vehicle again.
When I was looking for a car a few years ago, we stopped into Volvo of Austin to check out their inventory. I'd owned a Volvo before and was excited about maybe getting another. The salespeople acted like we couldn't afford any of the cars there (without knowing our situation) and made several comments that left a bad taste in my mouth. I ended up taking Volvo out of the running completely because I couldn't imagine dealing with that every time I needed service etc.
My current lease is now ending and I thought we'd give Volvo another look, hoping the experience would be better. It wasn't. I still have a month left on my lease so I wasn't ready to buy that very day, I really just wanted to compare 2 models to narrow things down. We sat in the demo vehicles and then wanted to check out what the used options could look like.
As soon as we mentioned used, the temperature shifted and we were pushed over to the receptionist, who scolded us for "not checking in." When I explained that we just wanted to *look* inside a few of the used vehicles she couldn't comprehend why I would want to do that and gave us a condescending lecture about how not every vehicle on the lot is not available for purchase. Even after I explained that I just wanted to take a peek to narrow down my search. Keep in mind, Volvo sales in the US are DOWN something like 40% yOy, so you would think they would be more interested in making a sale. I guess not though.
Had this initial visit been better, I'm certain I'd be sitting down finalizing a purchase on one of their vehicles as soon as my current lease ends. But it was so rude and frustrating that, again, I can't imagine giving them by business. Instead, I'm going alllll the way up to Volvo of Hill Country just to find some respect.
