- TMTerry MitchellJul 23, 20251.0What I experienced at this QuikTrip location was not just unacceptable it was traumatizing, racially insensitive, and deeply unprofessional. I’ve been a regular QuikTrip customer for years, and never in my life have I been made to feel so unwelcome, targeted, and unsafe — by someone who is supposed to be the face of the store the (store manager) I came in with a concern and calmly asked to speak with a higher authority. Instead of offering help, the store manager immediately became confrontational, refused to escalate my concern, and said in a demeaning tone, “I’m the boss.” What followed was a disturbing display of arrogance, profanity, and hostility. But it didn’t stop there. In front of me a paying customer the manager referred to another employee as “the Mexican guy.” I was stunned. It was blatantly racially insensitive and degrading, especially coming from someone in a leadership role. For a manager to speak that way about a fellow employee shows a toxic culture of bias, poor leadership, and a complete lack of professional standards. I was left feeling targeted, discriminated against, and deeply uncomfortable. I had to walk out of that store just to regain composure. There was also a tall older employee outside the store who witnessed the exchange and said nothing, which made the silence even louder. Let me be clear — this was more than bad service. This was a violation of basic decency and public dignity. No customer or employee should have to hear racially charged remarks or be spoken to with profanity and arrogance. And no one should feel fear or disrespect in a public establishment. This manager has shown he is not fit to represent QuikTrip or lead any team. He must be held accountable. I strongly urge leadership to take immediate action, including a full investigation and termination of this individual. Until then, I will not return to this location, and I will be sharing my story to ensure others are aware.
