Had me come drive an hour and 30 for a car that was already sold. I was in contact with them last night and the morning of for the car, no one mentioned that the car was sold and I even told them how long the drive is for me and don’t want to waste my time. They don’t care about holding their own end of the agreement as long as they get an appointment out of you. waste of time.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Clay Cooley Mitsubishi of Arlington. From start to finish, the entire buying process and everything that followed has been nothing but stressful, unprofessional, and a complete waste of my time. To start, the buying experience itself was terrible. I was left waiting for hours just to complete what should have been a straightforward purchase. There was little communication, no sense of urgency, and it already felt disorganized from the beginning. Then things got significantly worse. On December 17th, I had to contact my finance company myself to find out when my first payment was due, only to be told they had no record of me at all. After going back to the dealership, they informed me they had submitted the wrong vehicle on my paperwork and essentially sold me a completely different car on paper than the one I actually drove off with on November 20th. Because of their mistake, they had to send me an entirely new contract and resubmit my loan. This was a major red flag and completely unacceptable. Another issue was that one of the sensors in the vehicle was already not functioning when they sold it to me. However, the sensor settings had been turned off, so there was no way for me to know at the time of purchase. When I came back to get it addressed, I was left sitting in the maintenance lobby for about 4 hours while being given the runaround. I was initially told the part was ready, only for them to later claim they had the wrong part. No accountability, just excuses and wasted time. When I went to pick up my license plates after the new finance paperwork was completed, I was called in and told they were ready; but when I arrived, they said they didn’t have them. As I was about to leave, they suddenly “found” them. It felt completely disorganized and dishonest. During the process of correcting their mistake with my contract, there was also a “we owe you” item for an undercarriage plastic cover that protects components under the car, something my vehicle didn’t come with. I had to go back and forth and even negotiate just to get that honored while they were redoing my contract. It even had to be escalated to the general manager, which should not have been necessary for something so straightforward. Less than two months into owning the car, at only 35,000 miles, my fuel pump went out. At that point, I had already lost confidence in this dealership, so I chose to take my vehicle to an actual manufacturer dealership to have it repaired rather than deal with Clay Cooley again. Most recently, I attempted to use the “complimentary service” that was clearly indicated on the service sticker in my vehicle. I went in at the recommended mileage, only to be told they had no record of any free service on my account. After going back and forth with the advisor, he finally asked a manager, who confirmed that it did include a free first oil change. However, despite that, they still tried to charge me $152, claiming it was for extra oil (my car takes 6 quarts) and the filter. When I asked directly if the “complimentary service” was actually free, I was told no. At that point, I took my keys and left. Another complete waste of time. This dealership operates with poor communication, lack of accountability, and questionable business practices. From incorrect contracts, hidden vehicle issues, and constant runarounds to misleading “complimentary” services, it’s clear they only care about closing the deal, not taking care of their customers afterward. I have kept documentation of everything and will be filing formal complaints with the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this dealership.

I had a very poor experience with this dealership. I’d contacted them over the weekend about a car I found on Carfax or car gurus one of those places I called and talked to a lady. She told me that the car that I wanted was there to be sure and ask for her when I came in and I was planning on going in on Tuesday. My plans changed so I texted her on Sunday and said I would like to come in Monday morning and get that car. I was ready to pay cash for it and walk out the door. She told me it was available and she’d meet me there at 11 AM in the next morning. So I Take a $45 Uber from my house to Arlington only to be told she wasn’t there and I’d be dealing with somebody else. OK that’s fine until they came back and told me that the car that I specifically came out there to buy was sent to auction the day before. The preowned manager was very apologetic and offered to get me finance for a much better car. I told him the whole purpose was for me to buy a car in cash and not have a car payment. I told them I did not appreciate the bait and switch because that’s exactly what they did. It’s situations like this that give car dealerships a bad name. All they were looking to do is make a sale jack up the prize and charge me more money. I will never do business with any of their dealerships again. I hope you have a better experience than I did or better yet. Just stay the heck away from them.

I had a bit of rough time at my first service appt here. It ended with me frustrated and disappointed in how some of the things were handled and I voiced that and moved on. When I came back for my next service appointment, Robert Sherman and I spoke and we came to the agreement that neither party had handled the situation perfectly. Then, after we had already smoothed things over and discussed my service appointment for the day, he offered to give me a discount on the service because of the difficulties I'd experienced the previous time. He definitely didn't have to do that, but it was greatly appreciated. Customer service is hard and we are all human. As unpleasant as it was at first, I can look back fondly on that situation knowing that two imperfect humans came together and acknowledged their imperfections and moved past them with kindness and respect, and are likely both better for it.
