The morning of my scheduled pickup, I was contacted and told they likely wouldn’t have a car available, even though I had reserved in advance. An hour before my 5:30 pm pickup, I was told they had found something, but when I arrived, the vehicle reeked of cigarette smoke so strongly it gave me a headache the entire trip. The smell was overwhelming. I even spent my own money on smoke bombs and air fresheners, but nothing helped. On top of that, the car was not clean inside or out, it even had shredded cheese scattered inside. The windshield wipers were so worn they didn’t even clear water properly. While the car drove fine, the overall condition was unacceptable. When I returned the vehicle, I overheard an employee making the same phone call I had received, telling another customer that although they had a reservation, a car might not be available. Clearly, this is not an isolated issue but an ongoing problem with how Enterprise handles reservations. To make matters worse, I did not receive my full deposit back and have yet to receive any explanation. I would not recommend Enterprise to anyone. Reservations are not guaranteed, cars are not properly maintained or cleaned, and customer service leaves much to be desired.
