I didn't have a part number and, since the part was given to me, I didn't know what kind of vehicle it was originally in. Dennis relentlessly searched for a match with very little information to start with. He used a micrometer to measure the input and used research skills to locate the exact part. He really took his time, and I could tell he knew what he was doing and was passionate about helping people find the right parts. He ordered it for me, and it came in first thing the next morning. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward.
