  Don’t recommend! If you book a car online then you’d expect to be able to pick up the car when you land. No, the want a credit card on file. Not a bank card but a credit card. This place is a joke.

  This rental places is absolutely ridiculous. They charge you $500 if you use a debit card. And they do a credit check on you just to rent a car. What a scam!!!

  I was originally denied my rental car as I didn’t have my credit card with me and tried to put my debit card on file. I had already paid for my rental car through Expedia. They just needed a card on file. I asked the man at the counter if I could just use my debit card and pay the fee as I’ve done this before to which he just explained ““ Nashville‘s cracking down on that stuff:“ and we can’t use debit cards he said I could try a different rental company and didn’t wanna refund me. I called my family members to come pick me up but looked online as it states they do take debit cards. So I went back to the counter and talked to the other person working who then proceeded to help me get my car that I’ve already paid For. I don’t understand the level of incompetence and arrogance. Weird vibes from some of the workers.

  Sixt tried to charge me nearly $1,800 for a small scratch on a bumper that wasn’t even confirmed by a human. Their entire process is run by AI and automated cameras that “detect” supposed damages and immediately send inflated bills. When I asked for actual human verified photos, I got nothing but the same AI generated images and more pressure to pay. Even worse, Sixt admitted they don’t actually have to repair the so called damage to still charge customers. If twenty people get hit with the same bogus fee, that’s $36,000 collected for one scratch that never gets fixed. That’s not a rental company, it’s a cash grab disguised as one. After I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Sixt finally dropped the charge. That should tell you everything you need to know about how legitimate their claims really are. Instead of addressing the issue or being transparent, they chose harassment and intimidation until they were forced to back down. This company has garbage leadership, zero accountability, and an unethical system built around exploiting customers with fear and confusion. Their “AI damage detection” is just a modern way to scam honest renters. Do yourself a favor and avoid Sixt at all costs. There are plenty of reputable companies out there that still believe in customer service, honesty, and basic human decency.
