  We reserved a rental car online, relatively last minute (day before), to be able to explore outside of downtown Nashville for a couple days. SIXT was an easy walk from our hotel downtown, the pricing and vehicle options were reasonable for what we needed. The online reservation was pretty seamless, the options were clear and the online license verification prior to pick up did help speed up the pick up process. The office pickup experience was also easy and speedy. Our interactions with the employees were all friendly and helpful, and returning the vehicle was a breeze!

  I am compelled to formally document my serious concerns regarding this rental car company’s handling of a disputed damage claim. Following the return of my rental vehicle, I was notified that I was being held financially responsible for alleged damage. The company provided a photograph depicting a minor scratch located on the lower plastic trim beneath the door. However, the claim characterized the condition as paint damage to the door panel itself. Based on the photograph provided, that characterization appears inaccurate and materially misleading. The mark in question is minor and superficial in nature. I did not cause any damage to the vehicle during my rental period. Nevertheless, I was presented with a demand for approximately $900 to repair what appears to be a minor cosmetic blemish on plastic trim. To assess the reasonableness of the claim, I sought an independent evaluation from a reputable body shop. I was advised that a repair or touch-up of the condition shown would likely cost under $100. The substantial discrepancy between this independent estimate and the amount being demanded raises significant concerns regarding the valuation and assessment process being used. The claims process has been time-consuming and burdensome. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the appropriate state regulatory authorities and am evaluating all available legal remedies.

  Lionel was absolutely rude and judged my mother because she had on a hoodie, mind you, it was cold outside. Last night, my mother read all of the terms and conditions, proceeded to pay 861 before showing up at 8am the next morning with all of her correct paperwork and information, but Lionel proceeded to be rude no matter what, asking her questions like “Where the rest of your clothes at?” the second she walked through the door because she was shivering from the cold. When she came home and told me the entirety of her interaction, I thought he was joking with her, until the part where he refused to serve my her completely. She had all of the information she needed to proceed and instead of helping her he started coming up with reasons to not help her, and trying to tell her things that were different from what she read on the website last night. When another customer came in, he raised his voice at her and started talking to her like she was causing a scene. He offered a refund, she agreed and calmly left, but even as she was walking out he STILL was talking like she had caused a problem. We were shocked to see all of his nice reviews, just to show up and be treated like she was broke because of what she had on. This is ridiculous, and I hope anyone with money that isn’t wearing their money decides to go somewhere else, Lionel does not care if you have money, try not to show up in a hoodie while it’s 10 and below outside.

  Beware. There is a recent class action lawsuit against this company and it’s seems they haven’t learned their lesson. They are trying to steal $1,400 from us, claiming there is damage we caused. Their “proof” is blurry pictures with no timestamp of barely visible hairline scuffs on the bumper. We took video when we picked up but this so called “damage” is so insignificant that it can’t be made out in the video. Very convenient for them. After going in office to dispute the bill, they informed me I would have to call claims and refused to provide any further proof of damage or when they found it. Their claims number is only open 10-2 weekdays. Right in the middle of the work week. Very convenient for them.
