Came to the store to get a replacement as the old one wouldn’t hold a charge. Records didn’t show I had purchased additional warranty. Jackie suggested I check email receipts. While I was looking through email history she was researching the history of my advance account. Couldn’t find receipt. Very much disappointed but wasn’t going to press the issue. Jackie fixed it though. Not sure how but she arranged for me to swap the old battery for a new one. I am so very grateful. SO GRATEFUL. She didn’t have to believe me. And I’m sure she gets people every day attempting to pull a fast one. It would have been completely reasonable for her to stick to the SOP and tell me “sorry, but it’s not in the system and there is no receipt to back you up”. She didn’t however. She made a judgement call based on experience and I’m so grateful. I did purchase a battery last year and requested the additional warranty but when it all comes down to it I don’t have the proof. Extremely thankful for Jackie and wanted to be sure her management knows she is exceptional and doing a great job. Kindest regards. Karl

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
