They make it so difficult to return products. Even with a receipt. I been shopping at Advance Auto Parts for years. I'm huge good customer service. I'll be spending my hard earned money somewhere else from now on.

I, the customer became the culprit. I purchased two different filters and the would not refund the defected one, I just left without anything…..

My car felt brand new after I left, and I felt valued as a customer and a person. I cannot think of the last retail experience I have had where every employee was glad to help and willing to explain the situation. I know Ray and Shar did everything possible to get my car back on the road, and they made it look easy! The Dickerson Pike location will be my go-to. Thanks again for taking care of me this morning.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
