Walmart charges 64.88 for a full synthetic valvoline oil change They charge 101.00 plus tax … can someone tell me the difference in Walmarts oil and theirs? Overpriced…

So a co-worker was telling me about the Valvoline Instant Oil Change Centers and since I now work almost an hour from home on Monday thru Friday I decided to give it a try today on my lunch break. I had already assumed going in that with this being a short cut so to speak in service that it would be a bit more costly then say Walmart... Long story short after a new customer coupon it was still almost twice as much as Walmart for the exact same services... But you got in and out much faster than you would at Walmart? Also not true... Service took around an hour total for an oil change and tire rotation which made me 30 minutes late getting back to work from my lunch. For me the only advantage was I didn't have to get out of my car, oh wait you have to get out of your car when they rotate your tires... Oh well I tried, back to the drawing board! They were super friendly so this rant is not at all about the workers their just an in general comparison for Apples to Apples service. I am sure that if you take your car to the dealership for oil changes and service this is an entirely different review.

Overall the service was adequate, but not the best I have experienced. I thought I would give the new location near Costco a try since I was heading to Costco. An oil change was $20 more than I pay at competing places for a synthetic oil change. It was also the slowest service I have experienced. They were running 3 bays but not fully crewed. Also the team members were very timid in their call outs to other team members. A sign that the crew was not fully confident in the process. Overall- ok, but there is room for improvement.

I took my 2021 Audi Q7 for an oil change. My car was doing the Audi oil burn thing and just needed a top off, but I figured that since it was almost time for a change I’d just do it. Usually I just go to the dealer it might cost $5.00 to $10.00 extra, but it is easy. Today I didn’t have time to drive into Brentwood so I decided to go to the Valvoline store on Rutherford Blvd in Murfreesboro. BIG MISTAKE. Apparently to change the oil in an Audi they have to remove an engine cover and no one in the shop knew how. While they finished up several cars they started after mine, I watched them have many discussions among all the techs and when they started jiggling the cover and trying to force it off I asked the manager to stop. I felt that they might damage the part, and really if they didn’t know how to remove it the odds we’re pretty good they didn’t know how to put it back on. The manager complied and refilled and topped off the oil. I then had to wait while they reattached the skid plate. I know this is a complicated process and involves a lot of delicate fasteners but based on the amount of time they took and the really ugly sounds I heard coming from under my car I feel I now must make the drive to Brentwood and make sure there is no damage. This is not an exotic and the process shouldn’t have been known to them.
