- JGJ GDec 12, 20251.0Do not ever let this location or any valvoline center talk you into a transmission fluid change. Per thier policy they do not follow required critical steps in properly refilling the transmission fluid. Over 60k or even under 60k miles, if you have a transmission, your vehicle will be under filled due to them not ensuring the transmission temp is at the correct temperature. Operating trans temperature is around 175° - recommended temperature for proper fluid change should be no higher than 109 - 115° to do a proper level check according to every readily available literacy online (look it up yourself or call your local dealership service manager to confirm). Through the valvoline manager and area managers omission. They do NOT use the proper tools nor see the need to check the trans temperature per thier policy. If you need a transmission fluid change pay the extra $100 and go to your local certified technician (an actual mechanic) to have it done properly or you maybe out $7,100 out of pocket to replace your transmission like I just had to do. Again, Valvolines current policy absolutely contradicts every mechanic forum, and the recommend procedure according to an actual Toyota certified service manager and other certified mechanics I have directly spoken to, (one that replaced my whole transmission and has the expertise to change a whole transmission at Lexpro) which they both said, the transmission temp is absolutely critical to get a proper level reading and it requires a scan tool or at the least a IR thermometer (which valvoline area manager said they DO NOT use) - if trans temp to hot -(operating temp is too hot) - more fluid comes out resulting in the transmission being underfilled, if it's not hot enough, the transmission will be overfilled. All the technicians at valvoline are not certified technicians (yet) according to the manager. Many of thier employees do not have as much vehicle knowledge as the advertise. Buyers beware when it comes to anything other than a simple oil change or air filter change with Valvoline. They will lean on thier policy verbaige to not make things right and will refuse to file an insurance even if theres literally supporting information they made a mistake during the intial process.
