- CVCarter VenableDec 10, 20252.0I came to advanced auto parts as I thought my battery had issues, they ran a battery test and told me my battery was dead, so I purchased a new one, then as I drove off my car continued having issues, when I brought it back they ran tests again and told me that the new battery was showing that it wasn’t working either. When I asked if the originally battery could be replaced as the battery obviously wasn’t the real issue they said no, and I was out several hundred dollars as the original battery was already gone (even though I had just changed it out 15 min prior). The first two folks I worked with were great, giving them 2 stars instead of 1, but the 3rd was absolutely no help and actually made a rough start to the day worse. Additionally, I saw someone else he tried to help a mile down the road at a Firestone as they confirmed an issue with his car the 3rd gentlemen had said was no issue at all.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
