I took my car (2017 VW GTI Golf) to this shop as a recommended collision center through my Allstate Insurance claim earlier this year, after hitting a hole in the highway. I lost power steering and had wheel vibrating issues. What I learned in dealing with them is to always take notes of the names of the people working on your claim. For starters, the pictures of the shop in Google Maps are not of the shop in Cleveland, TN, which is misleading. But after driving an hour for the appointment, I decided to give them a shot anyway.
The first person I talked to was a heavier set gentleman named Tim I believe, who was actually great at explaining the beginning process of evaluating the car and working with the insurance for repairs, answering all of my questions. My car was there for about 2 weeks and when I went to pick it up I had a different experience. I spoke with a dark haired man with glasses (should have gotten his name) who said he was the manager. After the inspection of car revealed "clunking" in the steering rack, he explained to me that the insurance company did not want to continue repairs, but that he personally drove my vehicle and with the repairs that were already done (an alignment and balance) my concerns with the power steering and vibrating wheels were resolved. I also spoke with an older woman with a face piercing (also should have gotten her name) at the front desk of the waiting area, who seemed bothered to answer the questions I had about the next steps of getting in touch with insurance for disagreeing with the outcome of the claim. She either couldn't give me answers or didn't want to, but it was poor customer service.
After speaking with the insurance company afterwards, they mentioned that those at Joe Hudson's stated they never told me the insurance company refused repairs, and that I never spoke with a manager. Now I can't blame Joe Hudson's for the insurance refusing repairs, but I can blame them for calling me a liar and putting my word into question. After paying over $600 in deductible, the lack of power steering and wheel vibrations were still there. And don't get me started on the pre and post $50 'computer scan' fees, talk about nickel and dimeing. I would never go to this shop again 👎.
