Just finished. This is the absolute most expensive and worst device on the market. Happy to get rid of this headache. To reply: like I said. This company charges you for piddly things like a “sleeve” for the device that is not helpful for the 3 min cold start ups in the winter. Find a LifeSafer first if you can. They are the easiest/best device and service then go to smart start. Intoxalock is 3rd but only because there has to be a 3rd option.

All in all had good experience with traffic jams, he always helped me anyway I needed, but for the intoxalock I wouldn't have another one if I ever get told to get another I'm going to try to go with a different brand or something because you can't get ahold of anyone who speaks English and I had mine put in in 8/16/2024, it finally got out yesterday witch is 10/14/2025 never blew over 0.00 , never got locked out and still had it two months over what I was supposed to but they told me at traffic jams it would be this way but I've got it all behind me now, and on to the next chapter

I had an interlock device installed in my car. Customer service was excellent! They explained everything and made sure I was comfortable with using it before leaving.

Your company needs to get the paperwork correct. She had it installed on July 3td. Not June 23. I paid for the install. Then your company decided to keep my account attached to take payments out without my permission. Furthermore, this is her mother who made the payment for the install. You need to get everything correct if you want her to sign this BS contract you sent. Feel free to call me. I have her POA. You will not get another dime til this is cleared up. If I could give a Zero I would. Mrs.Robin Johnson.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
