- EEEmilyJan 31, 20265.0I needed a new battery and the first place I tried I was immediately told it was too cold out. I then called Advance Auto Parts and spoke with Sandy. She told me to come on down and she found a battery in stock for my car and that she'd give a try. Today we had bitter cold temperatures (felt like below zero with the wind), she was the only person working due to the snow and ice storm we just had but she was willing to help. She also helped another lady in front of me with her car battery replacement. I appreciated Sandy so much and could see her compassion for helping others with their needs. She had to work without gloves in order to loosen bolts but never complained. Thank you, Sandy!
- MCMisty ChambersJan 31, 20265.0Today I went to O'Reilly to be told I needed a new battery but they couldn't change it out due to the way it was placed so I went to advance auto and not only did Mrs sandy help with picking out the new battery needed she also looked at my battery in the car and said no problem and within 10 mins or less the battery was installed. She is the reason I will be only going to advance and no where else. Thank you for your awesome customer service and support.

They didn't even want to scan the product, the supervisor just told us that they couldn't help us. We had to go to Nashville to have the piece changed. There in Nashville they served us very well, they were very friendly.
- SBSouthern BoyDec 16, 20255.0Had some lights on my dash deactivating safety systems and found out I had a bad connection at the battery (not an EV). The crew here helped me get the part to fix the problem and voila no more malfunction lights car is runnin great. Ty so much!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
