  During a long family road trip from Ohio to Destin, Florida, we experienced every traveler’s nightmare about halfway through our journey. Our BMW X5 suddenly lost power, throwing multiple warnings including “check engine” and “drivetrain malfunction,” along with a message to drive to the nearest BMW service center. We exited at the nearest small town—Ardmore, Tennessee—feeling stressed and unsure of what to do next. After two unsuccessful attempts to get help from local mechanics (who suggested shops 20 miles away), we decided to stop by the local AutoZone to at least check the codes. That’s when we met Jared. From the moment he stepped in, everything changed. Jared quickly scanned the vehicle and delivered the best possible news—it wasn’t the transmission, but a misfire in cylinder 3. He calmly explained the issue and suggested options, including checking with a local mechanic. When I mentioned I’m fairly handy and willing to try fixing it myself, Jared didn’t hesitate—he stepped up in a big way. Not only did he guide me through the troubleshooting process, but he also helped source the necessary parts right away. I started by replacing the ignition coil, which was straightforward, but unfortunately, the issue persisted. Next, we moved on to the spark plug. During that process, I ran into another problem—a plastic crankcase vent broke (we could not source it on time ). At that point, Bobby, another manager, stepped in. With creativity and experience, I improvised a temporary fix using electrical tape and a fuel line, allowing us to safely continue our journey. It took about three hours in total from exiting, but thanks to Jared and Bobby, we were able to get back on the road and ultimately arrive safely at our destination. Their kindness, knowledge, and willingness to go above and beyond for complete strangers meant more than I can put into words. In a stressful moment far from home, they turned a potential disaster into a manageable situation. These two are true local heroes. Our experience in Ardmore restored our faith in people—what could have been a ruined trip became a story of generosity and humanity. We feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have crossed paths with such wonderful individuals. Thank you, Jared and Bobby, and thank you to the AutoZone team in Ardmore, Tennessee—you made all the difference.

  We had a problem with an old truck, and went in there for some guidance in supplies. The manager, I think his name was Jared was very very nice and there was a young man named Roman who also assisted us as we were in and out of there a few times that day. They were very kind and didn’t treat me like I was dumb, which sometimes happens when a woman goes to an auto parts store. Would definitely recommend this store.

  Absolutely amazing experience with Jared (store manager) and Roman. I brought my truck that I needed parts for and was able to get tools, a radiator, hoses, clamps, wipers, and everything else I needed. They went above and beyond helping me find what I need and providing water to mix my fluid with. Seriously, this was some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. I will be a lifetime customer to this location going forward. Thank you both for helping me, y’all saved the day and got my truck running and able to get home.
