Pretty disappointed with this place this morning. Had a very unsympathetic guy at the desk named "Jason", I said I have a tire that is going flat very quickly I can barely drive on it ..I pumped 10 psi in it from my little home air compressor just to get over here this morning.. It's a dire situation. He said well we'll see if we can fit you in this afternoon sometime.. we're all booked up. You'll have to leave your car with us, we'll see if we can fit it in maybe. I said:"Well I cannot, because I have nothing else to drive in I need my car for work today, and it's a bit of an emergency" I was desperate. He snorts and says they're all emergencies, lady. Sorry can't help you. Wow. I was shocked and dismayed. I was close to tears. I have zero respect for this place because of his attitude, side note: there was a guy sitting right beside him that didn't lift his head up or try and show any empathy either. He stayed out of it completely. Then I went to OK Tire on Park Street and I had no better luck there, rude receptionist. Seemed annoyed that I was disturbing her, and says you can leave your car with us, we'll see what we can do later. So again I left. BUT when I went to Ward Tire on Dewdney Avenue, they had an excellent guy at the desk named Michael, he took me in right away and empathized with my situation. He got one of those guys to take it to the back right away and there was a great big screw in it which was taken out. He treated me kindly and with respect. We chatted for a while in the waiting room. This place gets FIVE stars from me.
People, if you need tire service.. go to Ward Tire Craft on Dewdney Avenue. It's where you're treated like you matter.
Fountain tire on Victoria Avenue East has a terrible work ethic. I will definitely not recommend them to anyone, in fact I will disuade my friends from patronizing them. Thanks for nothing Jason.

Got them to do an out of province inspection on my car charged me about 3-4 grand. They redid my breaks didn’t properly bleed them the car was throwing codes and the brand new breaks didn’t work. Then they blamed the car because it was old (2009 civic) after I drove it home perfectly fine from another province. Would never ever take another vehicle back here.

Got me in quick which was a huge relief as I was in the city for work and needed to head home.
Tires wear out over time, and how long they last depends on things like road conditions, driving habits, inflation, and temperature. The best way to know when to replace them is to check them regularly.
Common ways to measure tread include the following.
- Tread wear bars: When these are flush with the tread, it’s time to replace.
- Coin test: If too much of the coin shows, your tread is low.
- Tread depth gauge: The most accurate way to measure.
If your tread is low or you see cracks, bulges, or notice vibration, come see us.
What are some signs my vehicle is out of alignment?
It doesn’t take much to throw your alignment off—potholes, curbs, or just everyday driving. Poor alignment can lead to faster tire wear and poor handling.
Common signs include:
- Vehicle pulls to one side
- Crooked steering wheel
- Uneven tire wear
- Loose or unstable steering
- Vibration in the steering wheel
If something feels off, we’re happy to take a look.
What’s included in the seasonal car care package?
Our seasonal car care package gets your vehicle ready for the weather ahead. It includes:
- Fresh engine oil and filter
- Chassis lubrication (as needed)
- Charging and starting system check
- Brake inspection
- Fluid top-ups
- Belt and hose inspection
- Battery test
- Tire and pressure check
- Heating/cooling system check
- Lights, wipers, and overall safety check
It’s a great way to make sure your vehicle is ready for the season.
What do the numbers on my tires mean?
The numbers on your tire’s sidewall tell you the size, load rating, and speed rating.
Example: 225/55R17 97H
- 225 – Tire width (mm)
- 55 – Height as a % of width
- R – Radial construction
- 17 – Wheel diameter (inches)
- 97 – Load rating (how much weight it can carry)
- H – Speed rating (maximum safe speed)
These numbers help us match you with the right tire.
When should I put my winter tires on?
A good rule of thumb: when you can see your breath — about 7°C and below. At that temperature, all-season tires start to harden, while winter tires stay flexible and grippy. Booking early helps you beat the rush.
