I am writing to formally document a serious safety and mechanical issue regarding a recent oil change performed on my vehicle. While I have consistently found your staff to be professional and cordial, the technical quality of the work has now reached a level of risk I can no longer ignore.
This is the second time I have experienced significant mechanical negligence at this location. Previously, on an older vehicle, the oil bung and filter were not properly tightened. I chose to give the business another chance with my brand-new car, only to have the exact same failure occur.
The following issues were discovered immediately after the service:
Loose Oil Bung: The drain plug was not secured.
Missing Components: The rubber washer was not re-installed.
Improper Filter Installation: The oil filter was loose, leaking, and had already begun backing off the threads.
Upon noticing the leak, I drove directly to my dealership. Their technicians confirmed the components were loose and that the engine was actively losing oil. Had I not intervened immediately, this would have resulted in total engine seizure on a new vehicle.
While I appreciate the convenience your location offers, convenience cannot come at the cost of basic vehicle safety.*** After writing a review, I apparently angered a few people, as I was phoned multiple times. I picked up and got chewed out by an angry manager for writing a poor review. A poor review is one thing, harassment is another. They even went as far as contacting my dealership, whom basically told them exactly what they wanted to hear (I expected better from a reputable dealership)this felt like an extreme breech of confidentiality. It went as I imagined, in which great Canadian Oil change denied any accountability of any kind. A review is a review good or bad, I call it like I see it. Not like im looking for money or free oil changes, just some accountability.
