I am reversing course; the technicians told me almost all of their abilities to change transmission fluid, flush coolant or change oil are non-existent. The person who changed my oil sounded unconfident he could change my oil. I won't go to Grease Monkey again.

I went to get my oil changed at Grease Monkey on 215 Omaha Street in Rapid City on 10/16/25 and met the Store manager Jason. About a hr after I left Jason called me on my cell phone to ask me out on a date. He got my number and address from the paperwork when getting an oil change and took it upon himself to call me without my permission. I thought this was very unprofessional and I told him so. Then 3 days later I went on a road trip to Montana and a piece of metal was hanging on by a screw and dragging on the ground as I was driving. I didn’t realize what the metal scrapping noise was until I was 5 hrs away from home. There’s no Grease monkeys in Billings Montana so I had to take it to Walmart to have the piece removed. (Which Jason suggested) I sent video evidence to Jason and told him that he did this to my car because he was the last one to touch it! He apologized and told me when I came back to South Dakota he would buy the part and put it back on my car for free. Now he’s not responding to my calls. If Jason was doing his job correctly in the first place instead of worrying about flirting with me this probably would’ve never happened. Since Jason is the store manager there is no one else to help me resolve this problem. I guess I will have to take it to small claims court.

We had a great experience. We went to a location that had previously been owned by a different company before Grease Monkey took it over. Our battery that we replaced there had stopped holding a charge after a year and a half. Jason took the time to find our service invoice, check the warranty, and they fixed it, even though they don't even use the same distributor the prior owners did . They also recommended a service that was definitely due, and took care of it quickly. Both employees we worked with were very efficient, courteous, and kept us updated on progress as they researched the issue.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my experience honestly deserves one. From the moment I pulled in, the customer service was on point. Jason, the manager, was phenomenal. He was super attentive, patient, and took the time to walk me through exactly what needed to be done. He explained why the work was necessary, what it would cost, and how long it would take. He even broke down the difference between ceramic and organic brakes and what each option would provide, which really helped me make an informed decision. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in running an honest shop. Sam, the assistant general manager, was just as great. He backed everything up with the same level of professionalism and kindness. I tend to ask a lot of questions, and neither of them ever made me feel like I was being a bother. Sam checked in with me more than once, made sure I was comfortable with the process, and treated me with the same level of respect and care. What really stood out to me was the way they treated me with genuine respect. I wasn’t talked down to, dismissed, or hit with any sky-high prices. They explained everything clearly, answered every question I had, and made me feel valued, not just like another ticket number. As a woman, it can be rare to have that kind of experience at a car maintenance shop, and it honestly meant a lot. They showed real integrity, care, and professionalism from start to finish. If you’re looking for a place that’s honest, transparent, and actually treats you right, this is it. I’ll 100% be coming back.
