- JTJonathan TurnerNov 21, 20215.0Fount myself with a completely dead charging system in their parking lot. They helped me pull the batteries. I had previously ( in July) replaced one battery and the alternator. Due to a defect, the alternator killed both of my batteries. They loaned me the tools and helped me get everything back in. I know most stores don't want you to work in the parking lots, but these guys didn't mind at all. (They said they were trying to help me avoid paying for a tow). Tim Davis is a ROCKSTAR and knows his stuff. He printed me out a serpentine belt routing diagram to help me (because my belt came off two of the pulleys) put the belt back on right.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
