I have to say that this is my go-to store from now on. The people here are great! I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was asked if I needed any help. You don't get that from too many places anymore.
Gage is the one who had helped me, I was doing my own oil change. He helped me choose the correct oil which I didn't realize all the different types. He also made sure I had everything I need to do it. If he hadn't asked me if I need something as simple as a drain pan, I probably would've had to come back and since I had everything in the first trip, he made sure I had everything I needed so I didn't have to. He was very informative and answered all my questions.
I will defiantly be coming back to this store!

This place is absolutely terrible !! I typically only use advanced auto for all of .y auto needs. The people at this location are the worst I've ever come across in any type of business. I was very specific about the year make model and trim level of my vehicle. Every single part I got ( $500 worth ) was for a different vehicle. I got to the shop and they tore my car apart just to find out they couldn't use any of it and I wound up having to use their more expensive parts. I went to return the parts to Advanced and was rudely greeted by Tim as he acted like I did something wrong and said it couldn't be their fault. He attempted to look up my car and insisted I was giving him the wrong information and tried telling me what kind of car Im driving.. Really ???? Finally he found their mistake and offered an arrogant " oh well " type an apology. Then proceeded to tell me I have to wait 14 days to receive my $500 back for parts purchased 2 hrs prior with receipt in hand. Absolutely terrible customer service and clear ignorance of their job description. I will never return to this location and urge others to do the same and am highly considering giving my business to another auto parts store all together. You failed big time today advanced auto. Do better

Don’t count on getting the free battery installation. I recently had a few errands to run on the west side of town, so I stopped by the Advance Auto on Warren H Abernathy Hwy because I was having issues with my battery. I purchased a new battery for about $200, and the employee at the counter told me there was a new policy: if installation takes longer than 30 minutes, they are not allowed to install it. Conveniently, when he checked my vehicle, the system listed a 30-minute installation time—which I suspect is standard for most cars.
However, my battery was easily accessible and right on top; it would not take long to replace. My husband actually installed it himself in about 10 minutes. When we returned the old battery to the Advance Auto near us, we mentioned the supposed policy to the manager. She said she had never heard of such a rule and believed it was incorrect.
In short, it seems the employee at the first location simply didn’t want to do the installation. I tried calling that store to speak to a manager, but no one ever answered the phone.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
