Rudest employee, says named Andrew, hung up on me twice becaue he could not find my order in the system. I had an order delivered and one item was left out of order and gave the order number and all other relevant information and he says he could not find the order and hangs up on me becaue he is frustrated and can't find my order. Just wow! This guy needs customer service training or a new type of job not dealing with the public. Cannot believe Advance Auto allows this type of behavior.

I had to wait a few days to write this bc I was so mad google would have taken it down. I spent almost 300 bucks on a battery I didnt need to get stranded in the middle of the road minutes later. I go in say I think I need a battery but can u use ur thing and check it. He tells me that if its starts when I jump it that it has to be the front battery. I dont know much about cars so I took his word for it. The girl that checked me out is the one that is gonna install it. She is maybe 5 ft tall. Im 5'9" but still not strong enough to pick up a car battery from an awkward spot. The 3 men sat inside while we tried for prob 20 mins to get it. An older gentleman had gone and come back out and offered to help but he shouldn't put his back out doing someone else's job. So I went back in and asked if they planned to just watch or if we might get some help bc she has informed me these are the manager and a key hour employee. The manager stormed out told the girl helping me in a very rude tone that he had it and she could go in. Sir she had done nothing wrong. I watched this man the manager come out and do something to his own car during this time. In his little temper tantrum bc he got called out he didnt bother to install the bar that holds the battery in place and left it where it could have fallen and gotten jammed in a belt or who knows what. Didn't put the cover back on. Screws just sitting in it. When do i find this out. On the next exit where my car dies right in the middle of traffic. I then had to pay to get it towed and get a new starter which is what was actually wrong and if the laziest men on the planet had checked it like I asked I could have saved the 280 bucks I definitely didnt have to spend right now. Not like they are gonna let me return it for my old battery. I wont make the mistake of going there again. It worth spending the little bit to let a real shop check things out. He could have cause real damage to my car and me potentially. Calling head quarters was pointless. Just sends u in a recorded message loop back to the beginning.

It has been cold here for the past few weeks and my truck has been having issues charging the battery after the first start of the day. The problem has been intermittent, but this morning was everything I could do to get it to a store to get it tested. Chris helped me troubleshoot the issue to a bad alternator, and let me use a few tools to swap out the bad part. He watched over my shoulder as I replaced the part ensuring I did not miss any steps or mess anything up. I would have been stranded without his help. Thank you so much!!

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
