  I recently rented a brand new 2025 Toyota Sienna from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Newberry, South Carolina, and this was one of the most frustrating rental experiences I’ve had — and I’ve rented many vehicles over the years. First, the pickup process was terrible. I had a confirmed reservation to pick up my vehicle at 12:00 noon, yet I didn’t actually receive my car until 1:09 p.m. This isn’t the first time, either — every single time I rent from this location, I end up waiting at least an hour past my scheduled pickup time. That’s a serious issue with time management and customer service. When I finally got the car, it was not clean — and this was supposed to be a brand new 2025 Sienna. There were dried drink spills on the doors, and even little paw prints on the dashboard, like a cat had walked across it. For a company that claims they can charge customers $250 for excessive uncleanliness, it’s completely unacceptable to hand over a vehicle in that condition. As for the car itself — beautiful on the outside, but absolutely aggravating to drive. The new automatic safety systems are so over-sensitive that they made me feel unsafe on the highway. When I got into traffic, the car would automatically create a 4–5 car gap, refusing to let me close in. Then the auto-brake system would suddenly activate, nearly causing an accident. It was constantly fighting me instead of helping. Technology is supposed to make driving easier, not dangerous. I would rather rent a well-maintained older model that allows me to control the car myself, instead of these overly automated new ones that practically drive you crazy. Between the long wait times, the unclean car, and the frustrating driving experience, I left this rental feeling disappointed and irritated. For what I paid, I expected better service and a truly clean, ready-to-go vehicle. Enterprise, please — get your pickup times under control, ensure your cars are actually clean before releasing them, and be honest about the overly aggressive “safety” features in these new vehicles. Until then, I’ll be thinking twice before renting from the Newberry, SC location again.
