    Strongly suggest against renting from Penske. Reserved a 26' truck over 3 weeks in advance for a one trip move... Received a call 3 days prior to the move saying they don't have a 26' but how would we like a 22'? You can never be sure about a reservation until you get to the store. And the owner now requests a phone call with the 800 number, and it goes directly to renting a truck or canceling a reservation. How are we supposed to contact you like this?

    Plan on spending an hour for check in and an hour for check out. Home Depot staff are great, but there is only so much they can do without having to call Penske. I had reserved a 12 foot truck, but when I arrived they only had a 16 footer. Harder to drive and worse on gas. Also, be careful of your estimated mileage. They say they don’t charge for mileage, but if you go over your estimate, you’ll be billed extra when you return. Also, plan on a lot of walking, as they put the trucks at the far end of their parking lot.

    Penske truck rental is always easy but making the poor Home Depot Customer service desk do this job really sucks for the workers of Home Depot. It can be slow waiting for them which sucks for them and the customer even if understandable. The Penske truck rental in Spartanburg has its own desk with other rentables - wish that was standard.

    I booked a truck online a day before pickup. When I arrived, there was no truck for me. The Home Depot lady was not very helpful and just kept saying “this is why you shouldn’t book online.” If the system booking through your website doesn’t work, take it down. After standing around for about 20 minutes, someone from Penske called me to confirm Mad Home Depot Lady’s news: no truck, no real plan in action to get me one. I cancelled, drove to the nearest Uhaul and had a truck within 20 minutes. Travel yourself the trouble, book elsewhere.
