  Strongly suggest against renting from Penske. Reserved a 26' truck over 3 weeks in advance for a one trip move... Received a call 3 days prior to the move saying they don't have a 26' but how would we like a 22'? You can never be sure about a reservation until you get to the store. And the owner now requests a phone call with the 800 number, and it goes directly to renting a truck or canceling a reservation. How are we supposed to contact you like this?

  Penske truck rental is always easy but making the poor Home Depot Customer service desk do this job really sucks for the workers of Home Depot. It can be slow waiting for them which sucks for them and the customer even if understandable. The Penske truck rental in Spartanburg has its own desk with other rentables - wish that was standard.

  Wish I could leave 0 stars. After we loaded our truck we discovered the tires on the front were so bald they had worn down to the steel threads. Penske sent someone out to replace the tires (after changing the time 3 times). We started our trip the next day and were traveling approximately 800 miles. A belt started to make noise after 3 hours. Approximately 1.5 hours from our overnight, the brakes stopped working almost completely. We got the truck to the destination at 11pm. Penske sent out a repair man to look at the truck who said there was no brake fluid in the line, it was empty. There had been no visible leaks, nothing. He was shocked at the awful condition of the vehicle since it was a 2019 with 30,000 miles on it. Penske had the trailer towed to our final destination the next day. After all that, they still charged us for not filling the truck with fuel (which we couldn't do since it was unfit to drive). When we called about all the issues we had after the fact, they offered us $100 refund. They're fortunate there was no accident that killed my husband and his father or any other driver out there. Customer service always was helpful on the phone, but this is unacceptable. Do not rent from Penske and especially this location! Not worth the stress and you won't get your money back despite the issues you have to deal with!!
