Not AutoZone because I have never been looking for windshield squirters the light up or hubcaps that spin when I am at a stop light. I ended up at the Fort Mill store helping my away at college son with a no start issue. The team tested the charging system and assisted my whole goose chase in the parking lot. While about to admit defeat and reach out to a mechanic like some sort of common person their suggestions lead to finding the issue right at the buzzer. My son drove away in a working car and the Fort Mill Advance Auto team made me look like a superhero dad. Thank you guys.
- LCLenore CalifanoMar 13, 20265.0The general manager, Scott, is amazing. My adult daughter had a dead battery. She drives a tiny Ford Focus and the battery terminals were corroded. In addition, to be able to get the battery in and out was a major effort that would make a saint cry. Scott spent quite a while working on it. He was always professional, calm, and polite. I know he scraped his knuckles up working on it. I would have thrown a wrench through the windshield in frustration. He eventually got the battery replaced and now I don't have to worry about my daughter being stuck on the side of the road. I highly recommend this business and Scott for any of your automotive part needs.

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
