The next morning our car battery had died (which we knew was nearing it's end). We went to Advance Auto Parts and got amazing customer service from Chris. First - he helped us get the right battery (and did not push us for the most expensive even when we asked him which he recommended). Then when it came time to replace it he went above and beyond. Our battery was rusted and corroded but he navigated the replacement perfectly and his experience really showed. I am convinced if we went anywhere else they would've sent us to a shop to fix it but Chris did it right in the parking lot and it was included with the battery purchase. I'm sad we can't make this our car place for the future because this experience instilled full confidence that they will help get the right solution for you and not just maximize their profits which is rare. Thank you Chris!

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
