Long story here, but stay with me! AutoZone on 501 is absolutely freaking amazing! The store manager, John, has gone above and beyond anything I ever expected in order to make sure every customer leaves on a good note. May 2023, we purchased a motor for my husband‘s truck. The motor came with a four year warranty. From the very beginning there was a leak, and we couldn’t figure out where the leak was coming from. We had several mechanics look at it and none knew what the issue was. Contacted the company the motor actually came from and they wouldn’t talk to us without a serial number or a receipt. Unfortunately, AutoZone kept our original receipt when we returned the core. Although they could pull up the sale in their computer, they were unable to reprint that receipt for us. That in itself, in my opinion, should’ve been sufficient for the manufacturer. It approved we bought the motor from them, with even the vehicle information in AutoZone’s computer. Two years…TWO years, we went round and round with the manufacturer because they’re absolutely was not a serial number on this motor. And they should have had record of that themselves anyway. They were rude, nasty, and even hung up on me a couple of times. Fast-forward to June 2025. I take the truck in for an oil change at Meineke in Myrtle Beach. The service guy in there starts asking questions about the truck. I tell him the issue with the motor and how the manufacturer would not even talk to us anymore. He knew exactly what the problem was!!! We are just as thankful for the employees at Meineke on George Bishop because they initially got this ball rolling!(huge thanks to Tiffany!) Anyway, she gets me in touch with the new manager at AutoZone, John. Nicest guy ever. But made lots of promises. I was sure he would not be able to keep. So happy to say, I was wrong! After another four months, John has jumped through hoops and done back flips to make sure we were treated exactly how we should’ve been treated in the first place. After realizing himself that the manufacturer was a real jerk, he went over their heads to corporate. He ordered a motor, even had a business that they have worked with in the past to put it in, we didn’t pay a dime or lift a finger! We had fully expected to have to pay someone a second time to put in a motor, but thankfully that was not the case. So grateful for John!
So if you guys need parts or service for your vehicle, AutoZone on 501 is the place to go! You will not regret it. But if you need a motor… Dear Lord, make sure it’s not coming from NuTech! 😂
