Everyone we dealt with in Charleston, over the phone and in Phila were so nice and helpful. Easiest experience with car rental ever. we started at budget and I literally made a reservation with Alamo while standing in line at the Budget counter for 40 min while 1 person handled the line ( which was long because their Fastbreak system couldn't recognize anyone). I got out of line and was on my way with Alamo in 5 min. I would have still been 10 people back after a 40 min wait at Budget. Had to drive 600 miles home due to snow, and changing the drop off to Phila was no problem. Definitely recommend.

On a the second day of my rental an alert popped up on the front screen stating that the washer fluid was low. I had to stop, buy and pour the fluid in its container. The next day a new alert popped up, also blocking half of the main screen, stating that the engine oil should be replaced soon. The sign remained there until the end of my rental period, because I chose not to have the oil changed. When returning the car I informed of these situations to the staff receiving the car but he said it was common and paid no further attention to the issue. Overall, it was very disappointing and a drag having to drive with the uncertainty of an engine failure and with a warning sign up all the time covering important information from the panel, such as the fuel left.

I’m not sure I have enough room here to say how completely blown away at the customer service and care my daughter and I were given!! We flew into Charleston last minute to see my son graduate from navy nuclear power school and we never travel alone so when booking everything I didn’t see that (and honestly didn’t even cross our minds) I couldn’t use a debit card or my husband’s credit card on a rental. I had originally booked with budget bc it was the first one that popped up. Long story short when I got there the girl was less than helpful and left us stranded at the airport at 10pm (my son could not leave base that late). I was almost in tears and happen to see that there was no one at the Alamo counter so I just walked up and decided to try someone else hoping for anything. There we met our saving grace KAY! Not only did she get us in a car but she did it while she was supposed to be at “lunch”. (I only know this because I overheard her ask another lady to out her food in the microwave for her.) When I tell you left there renewed in human kindness I mean it!!! She went over and beyond for us and made sure we were not stranded!! I’m not sure who is reading this but if there is any way to get her in management to teach others how to actually care for your customers that would be a very wise investment on your part!! Also. If this gets back to Kay, we deeply appreciate you and hope you go far in your career and all good things come your way) The rental actually turned out to be cheaper than I had originally placed with budget as well so that was a bonus!!
When we got out to pick up our car there was a sweet blonde girl that met us out in the parking garage (I’m sorry I didn’t get her name) she gave us a free upgrade (which was completely unexpected but was very nice). We ended up with a Buick envista which worked out perfect for what we needed and the weather in Charleston those two days.
When we returned our rental we met Ethan in the parking garage. He asked how our experience was and was overly nice and helpful as well! We couldn’t not mention Kay to him and how helpful she was. He told us that he has been trying to get her to complete some classes to move up in the company. So again if you value your customer experience then please put this girl in whatever she needs to do to train others because it will benefit your company immensely!
It was snowing that day and we had a very cold run from the garage to the airport entrance and instead of going immediately through gas and to warm up we decided to go see if Kay happened to be at work and to our delight SHE WAS!! We just wanted to thank her again and she welcomed us with a hug and told us how happy that made her.
Kay turned a terrible experience with one company into the most pleasant experience with yours and now not only will we will ONLY rent from Alamo because of it, but I’m going to share this experience with everyone I know and encourage them to do the same!!! You guys have truly hit the jackpot with her as an employee!! Thanks again KAY!!
