I told him what my issue was but he insisted over and over that it had to be the battery without even offering to check the alternator. I asked if he could at least check it, but he still kept telling me "it's gotta be your battery" even after telling him the battery was new. I ended up going to AutoZone, and they actually ran the test for me with no problem (nothing was wrong with my battery). I expected better customer service from a parts store especially when I’m coming in for something as simple as a check up 😐

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
