- SMSisi MaJan 6, 20265.0I stopped by to buy an oil filter for my RAV4 Hybrid. The CarQuest filter for my car was out of stock, so I asked a young associate for help. He recommended a Mobil 1 filter priced at $18. When I went to check out, he was busy chatting with a friend. Fortunately, Alfredo—a senior associate—stepped in and took the time to help me look again. He found a Fram filter that was on sale for just $4. It was great to see someone like Alfredo go above and beyond to genuinely help a customer.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
