  I had 2 x rims for an old Sears garden tractor, that needed (A) new tires, or else new tube replacement on each and (B) additionally, on one of the rims, the remnants of the drive axle that had rust-welded itself into the rim, after 40+yrs installed. I needed the unwanted axle removed made it clear I wanted to preserve the rim, to allow continued use with either new tire or new tube replacement. After leaving my 2 rims with them, they proceeded to achieve separating the axle from the rim but unfortunately in their manner of doing so, proceeded to destroy the rim. "but we got the axle out"..... (!!) The point of the whole exercise was to separate the axle and preserve the rim! Additionally, the real sting came when there was a $40 labour fee to be paid for the work, for them to destroy my rim "saving the axle". I could have destroyed my rim on my own for free- but this was why I brought this issue to them in the first place- (new tires + get the axle out/save the rims) Disappointed. My costs now elsewhere to remedy the current situation, are 2 new tubes (the tires are still workable), and now because the rim is ruined, I am out the cost of a replacement rim + the 40$ to ruin the old one, separating the axle.
