I hoped they’d give me a discount on the next level up for the battery my car needed but instead they swapped out the old one for free, giving me a better battery in the process. - JJjoewillgoDec 28, 20255.0Michelle, the manager at AutoZone, was incredibly helpful. Our 2019 Subaru Forester wiper blades were difficult to match because they aren’t the standard J-hook type, but she took the time to find the correct ones and helped us get it done. Excellent customer service!
- CHChris HDec 14, 20251.0Picked up brake pads. They the one broke two days 3 days later. Rude workers when I took them back. Then I needed all parts to return. When I got back they then said they don't have anymore. Come back. Asked if other store has them. They said the stores are not linked. I know that's not true as the one in Delaware before has told me they have other part when they where sold out. Plus not happy I did not have my receipt. But they looked up and everything was on there register computer. Why do they take you name phone # can look it up to know everything. I dont know if I will get new pads or not. Have to go back again for that. Got pads from other place.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
