  Shop said the job would take several weeks and lost my phone number (or recorded the wrong number when I gave it to them), I called 3 weeks in to check progress. Shop had been done for about 1.5 weeks. During the time my car was in their garage, the engine bay was infested with mice. After getting car back, the transmission worked fine, but I smelled something foul coming from the air vents and under the hood. I tried to get the issue resolved for cheap at a nearby dealership (Cottman's location is 1.5 hours away from me). The dealership claimed the transmission was covered in fluid that was dripping and burning on the exhaust, but I'm not so sure that was the issue. The smell does not resemble burning CVT fluid as far as I can tell. The dealership's clean up didn't work to remove the smell, so I took it back to Cottman's. They had it for almost another 2 weeks. I left voicemails trying to reach them, but upon getting someone on the phone, they said they don't check their voicemail box. They claimed to have lifted my transmission out again and found nothing wet. They said they took pictures, but they never sent me any. It looked like all they did was blast the engine bay with an air compressor and use a volatile smelling deodorizer. Some of the fiber the mice were nesting in was still there, as were the mouse droppings. I asked them what else they could do to identify and remove the foul smell. The employee on the phone said they could open up the dash to check, but his boss wouldn't do anything else complimentary, despite me arguing that they should hold themselves accountable and fix the issue that they created. Really disappointing. Despite the distance from home, I took my car to Cottman's in Stroudsburg because of their great reputation. Everyone makes mistakes, and I wouldn't feel any sort of way about this if they'd owned up and did everything they had to do to resolve the smell issue. I even said I'd have to leave a negative review if they wouldn't follow through, and that didn't seem to bother the employee on the phone. I'm still dealing with the smell. I cleaned out my engine bay as best I could and ordered an AC cleaning kit. Hopefully that works.
