This is the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. My vehicle had intoxalock installed October of 2023. Which I had been paying since August 2023 but they never finished the paperwork to actually get the system installed until October. My vehicle became inoperable in May 2024. I'm 99% sure that it was the system that caused the computer in my van to fail. The vehicle sat in two different mechanic shops for a total of 6 months and neither one was able to fix the damage. The first mechanic Richard Ballard charged me over 1500$ in repairs that still did not get my vehicle to start. The second mechanic simply gave up. So I assumed that I was still paying the company twice a month that the time on my account was still running. So finally September 2024 comes and I get a letter from penndot stating that my eligibility date is October 4, 2024. It states that I need to forward this letter to intoxalock to have them send a declaration of compliance to penndot so I can receive my unrestricted license. After multiple emails, calls that I've been on hold for hours, and texts to the company, they finally tell me that my vehicle was reported disabled in May 2024. They said I'd only receive credit for 5/12 months. I've still been trying to call penndot and intoxalock for weeks and they will not help me get to the next step. This company is still charging me twice a month and my lease is expired. They just want paid, they've been deceitful and unhelpful this whole time and they still expect me to find another vehicle to have this terrible machine installed in. I was supposed to be hired at a job that required me to have my license. I'm going into debt and have a baby on the way and this company is ruining every chance I have of getting my license and employment. Besides disabling the only means of transportation that my family had. Use any other company if you have to have an ignition interlock device installed. They're nothing but crooks. As an American citizen I believe there should be checks and balances in these circumstances but even the US representative Tim Bonners office in Grove city Pennsylvania was not able to help me. So I'm completely at the mercy of this company that has repeatedly treated me terribly.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
