- MAM AJan 11, 20261.0I’m shocked how there are so many good reviews for this location… unfortunately it’s the only local auto parts store or I’d go somewhere else. I shop for air filters and lightbulbs and today was the 4th visit in a row where they’ve sold me the wrong thing. It’s truly fascinating how you can get the simplest things wrong… and I’m so glad for the other people have left reviews saying they’ve come out to help look at their cars, etc. every time I ask they say they’re not allowed to look. Overall experience is usually unhelpful and what should be a quick trip always ends up in going back in to make a return and exchange, which is why I don’t leave their parking lot because something always goes wrong.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
