I made a reservation. The reservation was confirmed. I showed up and the young man behind the counter told me he would not be able to get with me until later in the day because he did not have the class of car that was reserved. After I reiterated my confirmation, he then said he can give me a minivan, but he will charge me at the minivan rate rather than the rate that was confirmed. In the past, if this has happened, they've been very apologetic and they've given me what was available at the rate that I confirmed. I feel like Enterprise has lost its customer service skills that it once had.

June 2025. I was traveling to Canada for a family funeral. I reserved a large SUV (Tahoe Max / Expedition) from Enterprise for 8 people.
Twelve hours before the trip, Enterprise called and said they didn’t have the SUV. Then they had the nerve to tell me large SUV reservations are not guaranteed. What’s the point of a reservation then?
I had 8 people, an international trip, and no backup plan. I had to rush to the airport last minute to find another car. Because of this mess, I missed my family’s funeral.
That’s unforgivable.
Do not trust Enterprise with important trips. If it matters, they will drop the ball. If you reserve a Max SUV, don’t expect it — they give you whatever they have, not what you booked.
This company cost me something I can never get back. Avoid.

Avoid Enterprise. When they ask you to call, do not expect real help. The call only makes things more upsetting than the original problem.
My reservation was canceled before a family funeral, and the follow-up response showed very little care or understanding. The offer they later made did not fix the harm or stress caused.
Based on my experience, Enterprise is not reliable and not compassionate. I would not trust them for important trips.

Even though the rotate staff through, the staff is excellent. I have been renting here for several years and their commitment to customer service has never waivered. I will continue to rent here.
