- BSBen SarkisNov 21, 20251.0EDIT: My Subaru dealership discovered something quite horrific. I took my car to Jiffy Lube initially for a Battery Cleaning and a Brake Fluid change on November 22nd. The mechanic there was able to clean the battery but was unable to change the break fluid. During the break fluid changing process, he changed out my calipers. He said he stripped a screw on the back left caliper and ordered new ones, then claimed he screwed them back in with another mechanic to witness this. To Jiffy Lube's credit, they only charged me for the Battery cleaning and said the car was NOT safe to drive. But my understanding was it was unsafe due to Brake Fluid issues not caliper issues. I then towed my car to the Meineke on the other side of Siebert road to have them do a full Brake Fluid change out. Meineke DID say it was safe to drive after that (when it wasn't). I drove this car to upstate New York and back for Thanksgiving thinking all was well. Fast forward to December 2nd and I get my car checked for an unrelated Front and Rear differential and Spark plug checkup. Either them or Meineke forgot to put the screws, because I was greeted with a picture of the Left Rear Caliper with no bolts in it below. This is an unacceptable mistake that neither Meineke nor Jiffy Lube has owned up to. The caliper could have fallen off and could have caused a crash. All I asked for was the $100 Subaru charged me to screw in the Caliper, and both of them denied they did it. Well, you lost a customer today Jiffy Lube (and Meineke), and both you and I are lucky that my family and I did not face a tragedy on Thanksgiving.
