  Shady location of Sixt. Very poorly run compared to the PHL Airport location. They fraudulently tried to pin damage on me that I did not cause even though I only had the car for 8 hours. Then to make matters worse, they also fraudulently charged my credit card over one week later for a 7 day rental with a late fee, of over $500 and every time I tried to call the branch to fix the issue they placed me on a 15 min hold. Unacceptable.

  DO NOT USE SIXT!! This place is straight garbage. Showed up to pick up my reserved car onto to be told they had none. What’s the point of a reservation?? Then they offered to upgrade me if I was willing to pay for the upgrade. So it’s basically bait and switch. Then calling them was impossible since they won’t pick up the phone. Luckily Enterprise had a car around the block. DO NOT USE SOXT!!!

  Sixt has become my new Budget and Enterprise car rental place, just more convenient. They're right across the street from my job, making pick up and return a very easy process.

  If I could provide 0 stars, I would. Using Sixt for the first time, I selected them due to the low price of their rentals. I rented a car for 1.5 days to attend a family funeral within 2 hours of the pickup location and hardly even drove the car for the duration of the rental. To my surprise, 2 days after returning the car, I received notice of 2 sites of damage on the car (one was a scratch on the passenger front side and another on the side mirror). NO EVENTS during the course of the rental caused, or even could have, caused this damage. Given the circumstances of the reasons for my rental and a pressing schedule, I did not take photos of the rental before leaving their property. Shame on me, and I will pay the consequences for it. Based on other reviews for this location, as well as testimonies from a wider class action lawsuit against this company, unfounded claims on vehicle damage is unfortunately quite typical for Sixt. The incentive structure that they use to compel predatory practices among their employees (holding them financially responsible for missed reports of damage) corroborates this point. Thinking that I found a low-cost car rental service to use for a family tragedy is leading me toward an expensive toll for damages that I did not cause. I guess I'll devote my time to a lengthy dispute with my credit card instead of grieving. Thanks, Sixt. Avoid this company AT ALL COST. You are a target for a scam under the guise of corporate legitimacy. And to the regional manager writing polite messages to individuals sounding off on similar instances of your corrupt business practices, spare me the indignity of even responding. If your company does not change its ways, those corporate platitudes that you offer us are cold comfort. My #1 recommendation is to flat out avoid this company if you can. If you have the misfortune of already holding a reservation, or have no choice but to choose them, document EVERYTHING before you drive off. Even renters with photos have issues with unfounded damage claims (e.g., claims submitted BEFORE their cars are even returned). Second is to use a credit card that can hopefully cover expenses. Should we have to take such precautions against a company? No. Hence my advice to avoid them entirely. 0/0 stars for a vampiric company.
