I pumped $20 worth of gas, but to my surprise, an additional $55 hold was placed on my account. Upon reviewing the store, I noticed a sign inside that states, “Certain major card issuers and banks have limits on fuel transactions that may affect your pay-at-the-pump. Banks may place a hold on customers’ accounts, typically $75–$100, and it’s usually released once the transaction is processed, though it may take anywhere from several hours to several days.” The problem is, this sign is only visible inside the store, meaning customers are unaware of this potential hold until they check their bank accounts. This is not only inconvenient but also unfair to those who may not have the extra funds to spare, especially when they don’t know when the hold will be released. It’s misleading, and I believe this information should be displayed more clearly and prominently before customers make a purchase. I hope the management takes this into consideration and makes the necessary changes to better inform customers about these potential holds.
