Jon and his son were extremely helpful. Going above and beyond to get it done in no time.(less than 2 hours) despite the device being sent to the wrong shop. They also taught me how to use it and were very helpful in general. I absolutely recommend this shop to anyone that needs this or any other work done. It's very hard to find an honest mechanic these days, but these guys are the real deal. Id give them 10 stars if possible.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
